For the preliminary the group that I was in wanted to try something different other then doing some kind of deal or exchange. We also wanted to get a variety of camera angles and camera shots. There were positives and negatives to our preliminary video that has been spotted by us and others that have watched it. These positives and negatives have been taken into account so that when it comes to our Thriller Opening we know to look out for some of these aspects and to be more aware of objects or people in the backgrounds and also with reflections.
After the group had watched it, after editing and even whilst we were editing, we noticed things that was wrong with the video. At 0:09-0:18 the ground had wet ground on it but at 0:21 there is dry ground and very little wet ground. This is because we did filming on two different days which meant that the weather was different. At 0:26 Joel's tie (far right hand side in white shirt with glasses on) his tie blew over his shoulder, with this we were lucky as in all the clips we took the tie blew over his shoulder and it was the same shoulder in each shot so we could edit it to make it look like it had been over the whole time. At 0:32-0:36, (low angled shot of the lads walking across the screen) we noticed that in the background there was a half eaten apple on the ground. when it comes to the actual Thriller opening before filming the proper scene we will take a picture or small video of what we can see and watch it back to make sure that nothing is in the camera shot that shouldn't be. From 0:36-0:41(shot of lads from behind walking away from the camera) in the background there was a PE lesson, if this was in colour it would be noticeable as the PE kit is gold and black but because we have put it into black and white it isn't as noticeable. When we were showing who was who within the preliminary Jamie and Joel had aviators on which are really reflective so when filming the end shots you could see the rest of us and the camera in the reflection. Also people noticed that there wasnt any conversation in this, they werent dsappointed but for thi task it wa required and we hadnt done it.

Others watching it noticed these mistakes as well but they thought that there was positives in this video as well;
- people liked the instrumental music fading into the lyrical version of Chamillionaire then back into the instrumental.
- they liked the music
- they liked the use of black and white
- they liked the use of actors and how we didn't just use ourselves for this task
- they liked the fact that it was slightly cheesy but worked well just for the preliminary.
Overall, I am very happy with the outcome as I have learnt to be more visual and aware of the surroundings and what can actually be seen in the view finder to make a good video work.
